Jackson has a long history of agriculture and forestry that is displayed in the museum.  Take a step back in time and cross a rustic bridge from the parking area and enter a bygone era.

There are 8 different display museums for you to stroll through and learn from the guide about all that transpired to make story come to life.

The 40 acre complex, located right in the center of the busy city, brings to life Mississippi’s rich agricultural heritage.  A 40,000 square foot Heritage Center traces the history of agriculture and forestry through an extensive collection of artifacts and life-like exhibits.  Outside, the Fortenberry/Parkman Farm restoration and Bisland Cotton Gin, both circa 1860, tell the story of farm life in early Mississippi.

You will be able to walk down the street of a small town in Mississippi circa 1920, and imagine a day in the lives of the people who lived there and worked and worshiped in the various buildings that make up the small town.

A visit to the Fitzgerald Collection, Ethnic Heritage Center, and Chimneyville Crafts Gallery complete this walk through history.  Enjoy the experience, see the beautiful gardens and reflect on the changes in the community in the past 100 + years.
