Vacation in Jackson, Mississippi

Jackson, Mississippi.jpgFamily vacations come once a year.  Looking for somewhere that you can travel and take everyone is easy, especially if you are thinking about going to Jackson, Mississippi.  It is a great place to take your kids.  There are zoos and museums, and even parks that are perfect for the family.

The Jackson Zoo is a perfect place to spend your day.  There are 776 animals at the zoo, 14 of them are in the endangered species list.  See the snow leopards, pygmy hippo and the Sumatran Tiger all in their natural habitat.  These endangered species are only a few that you can see there.  Other animals that are gazing about are the red wolf, chimpanzees and the black and white colubus monkey.  If you are into bears, then you will love the red panda.  After spending the day there, do not forget to hit the gift shop and take home a pet of your own. 

If you haven’t had enough exciting outdoor activities, go to LeFleur’s Bluff State Park.  The five hundred acre park has just about everything.  There are camping and hiking trails along with boating and fishing.  Want to take in a round of golf?  The park even has a nine-hole course and a driving range course.  So don’t forget your clubs when you are packing. 

After you have hit golf balls for an hour, then take in some bird watching or go to the bath house. Others in your family may want to go canoeing or view wildlife.  The park also offers boat ramps and botanical gardens.  You can spend a day or two at the State Park, since there is so much to do there.  You can picnic under the covered picnic areas as well and watch the kids play on the play ground.  It is an excellent family park, or perfect for those that is just vacationing with friends.  

If you want to get a little more adventurous than just canoeing down a river, try going skydiving.  Skydive Mississippi is the perfect place for you to try out your wild side.  They offer views from 15,000 feet.  They have two different types of dives as well. Try the tandem dive or the accelerated freefall.   This is the quickest way to become a qualified skydiver. It is also the easiest way to learn to freefall since you are falling for 50 seconds from 15,000 feet.  Don’t worry; when you land you will land on the latest ram air canopies. Afterwards you will be debriefed and offered videos of your jumps.  Jackson, Mississippi has it all, fun in the sun, fun in the air and fun on the ground.  Make your reservations for your vacation and start an exciting adventure.
